Congratulations to Autumn!

I'm excited to share that Autumn Lavine is taking on the role of NYS 4-H Fair and International Exchange Specialist with the NYS 4-H team!

For the past 7 years, Autumn has successfully led NYS 4-H engagement in the New York State Fair and States 4-H International Exchange programs through a coordinator position. In this new specialist position, she will continue this work and also support statewide 4-H professional leadership development and capacity building initiatives.

I had the joy of witnessing some of the impacts of Autumn’s work last week at the International Exchange departure event where families from all across the state gathered together in celebration of their time hosting young people from Japan. I heard from multiple people who named youth as new family members and I felt the connection and belonging they grew together. Many of us will also experience the impacts of Autumn’s leadership as we join in 4-H adventures at the State Fair the next couple of weeks. She has a way of bringing together people and resources so that even when we’re in the middle of Fair 24/7/365 and not sure about how to get enough sleep, we have the opportunity to be our best selves and create community. I’m looking forward to how youth and our programs grow with her in this new role.

Please join me in congratulating Autumn!
