Media Literacy Education for Children and Youth: A Workshop



The National Academies will host a workshop on June 11-12, 2026 at the Keck Center focused on how to support the development of media literacy for children and youth in the context of rapidly changing and complex media environments. The workshop will bring together educators, librarians, curriculum developers, researchers, program providers, associations, organizations, as well as funders and policymakers to explore promising practices and programs. Workshop participants will also discuss and identify current educational needs to better inform the development and implementation of effective media literacy instruction and programs.
