Planning for Summer Safety: Ensuring Safety & Preparedness for Programs, Fairs and Events

NEW! Planning for Summer Safety: Ensuring Safety & Preparedness for Programs, Fairs and Events

Summer programs bring excitement, learning, and unforgettable experiences—but they also require thoughtful preparation to keep everyone safe, ensure smooth operations and protect your association. This essential series will equip teams with practical strategies and tools for developing Safety and Communication Plans for fairs, camps, and summer programs while ensuring the well-being of staff, volunteers, participants, and animals. Counties are highly encouraged to participate as teams (ED, Program Leaders, Educators, etc.) in these 5 sessions. Extension Administration, P.W. Wood & Son Inc., the NYS 4-H Team and the NYS 4-H Animal Science Team join together to provide 2 informational sessions. The first session will provide the resources and tools to consider for all summer programing. The third session will focus specifically on the additional needs and consideration for fairs and animals. The week following these two sessions will be guided working sessions to update or create your plan. At the end of the summer, we’ll come back together to review and evaluate your plans while it’s still fresh on our minds. Helping us all improve our plans, resources, and supports for next summer. Highly recommended to join all sessions but not required. Register and reach out to Kelly Campbell (kmc86@cornell.edu) with any questions.
