National 4-H Index Study is LIVE!

As part of our continued efforts to support and grow the 4-H program in New York State, we invite youth to share their voices in the 2025 National 4-H Index Study. This study is essential to our mission, as it helps us better understand how 4-H fosters positive youth development and empowers young people to thrive.

We are inviting youth ages 13-18 to share their experiences and insights about their time in 4-H through an online survey on Qualtrics, which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. The data gathered will provide valuable insights into how 4-H programs are shaping leadership, STEM skills, personal growth, and more.

Please encourage your youth to take the survey—every young person’s experience matters. The more voices we hear, the better we can ensure that 4-H continues to thrive and make a lasting difference. Additionally, the more responses we receive from New York youth, the more accurately we can reflect our state's unique experiences and needs in the national data.

Thank you for your continued dedication to the success of 4-H and for helping us make sure that the voices of our youth are heard. Together, we can ensure that 4-H remains a powerful and transformative experience for all involved.

Youth who are qualified to take the survey should have received an email from 4-H Online or from the State 4-H Office on 3/17. The email subject is "Be Heard: Share Your 4-H Experience in the 2025 National Index Study!"

Land Acknowledgement

Cornell University is located on the traditional homelands of the Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' (the Cayuga Nation). The Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' are members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, an alliance of six sovereign Nations with a historic and contemporary presence on this land. The Confederacy precedes the establishment of Cornell University, New York state, and the United States of America. We acknowledge the painful history of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' dispossession, and honor the ongoing connection of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' people, past and present, to these lands and waters.

This land acknowledgment has been reviewed and approved by the traditional Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫ' leadership. Learn more
